I've been to East Kilbride. Almost 10 years ago for work. Had a very surreal experience watching a film in a cinema, by myself in an empty shopping centre. Only saw the person selling the tickets and about 3 other people. After the film as I was walking down the stairs (the escalator had stopped) I heard strains of "Play That Funky Music" in the distance. Followed the noise, turned the corner and stumbled on every single person in E Kilbride, fully dressed up, out at the roller disco...I hope nothing's changed.
Yes it's all changed and not for the better, let me tell you. (Here comes the rant about how it used to be better in my day.)
It's a good place to live but for a night out it leaves a lot to be desired. So Glasgow is the preferred destination, although I feel even that's not as good as it used to be (or am I just getting old?)
Anyway dannyblue glad you're enjoying the blog, I'm now away to reminisce about the Funk Room, Club 69, nutty bars, pacers and chelsea whoppers!
