A belated xmas present in the form of a track from the new 4 hero album - Playing With The Changes. I've been looking forward to this for some time and it's almost here. There's a nice cover of Superwoman & the obligotary guest vocal from the fantastic Ursula Rucker, but I've opted for the opening track - Morning Child.

Also, one of my favourite tracks of the year. It might be winter here in Scotland but here is a slice of the summer from guitarist Raul Midon - Sunshine. Lovely music that I know you are going to enjoy

Merry xmas.

Sitting here alone with the laptop as I have the flu, so Yvonne and Zak are staying at her parents house - can't have my little boy getting sick now. So this is an ideal time to peruse my music collection and listen to some sounds and also share some of these sounds.
So for a xmas track I have chosen 'Peace Go With You Brother' by the hugely talented Gil Scott Heron, incidently his dad was one of the first black footballers to play in Britain and played for the mighty Glasgow Celtic! A song about hope and unity, which in these times is even more important than ever before. This song is taken from Winter in America, an album you need to get a hold of, just simply a beautiful album and includes the brilliant 'The Bottle'.
So people have a good Xmas and as the man says - Peace Go With You Brother!

Enjoy.

A mixture of folk and country from the "Moonshine Sessions". This is the new side project from the frontman of the Gotan Project - Phillipe Cohen Solal. I loved the first album from the Gotan Project but I was'nt too sure about the follow up, so I have high hopes that the Moonshine Sessions will be a return to form. With the album to follow soon here is a little slice of "Psycho Girls & Pyscow Boys".
Very nice.

Global Communication: Blood Music

I am not in the habit of posting complete albums, as this blog is more about letting you hear various artists so that you can go out and buy their creations. However I am posting this as, apparently, it is quite hard to get and is simply a sublime album.
I bought this about 13 years ago. I was going through a heavy ambient phase, listening to the likes of Pete Namlook, Irresistable Force, etc. I came across this by complete accident, it came as part of an indie album by Chapterhouse (which was soon discarded) and still to this day gets regular play on my I-Pod.
Then came the classic 76:14 album, another of my faves.
One of the best nights I've had was at a Global Communication night at The Arches, where they performed "Maiden Voyage" live. Matthew Herbert was also performing under the guise of "WishMountain", very strange set.
Be sure to check out the various other guises of this talented duo in the form of Reload and Jedi Knights. Mark Pritchard's - Harmonic 33 & Troubleman. Also look out for Tom Middleton's Amba project.... very nice.

Enjoy.

A RE-POST!

Well of sorts, here is the wedding mix now broken down into its individual tracks. Now I don't have to tell you this was the best day of my life up until Zak was born and what makes a great day even better..... amazing music. So if you have'nt got the mix (or if you have) download these gems. Check out the August archive for the track listing, because I can't be bothered typing it again!
